A New Inspiration

My Hubby and I just finished watching the movie "Julie & Julia". I loved it! But pretty sure I watched it with the wrong person. I offered for Josh to skip out on the movie and I watch by myself, but he opted to continue on, like a champ, I might add. I figure this movie was pretty close to torture for him, lol!!!

Not only do I love cooking, but I now have a new inspiration to blog about my sewing. So thank you "Julie & Julia" for reminding me again how much fun it is to cook! And for giving me a new inspiration for blogging :)

My last post was yesterday morning...and last night all 4 of our kids got sick. Like puking and diarrhea constantly. Then Daddy and I also got sick in the middle of the night. So I humbly called my mom, who lives 45 min away, and asked if she could come and help. Of course, there was no hesitation whatsoever and she was at my house within an hour and a half with 'sick' soda (as my kids call it) and pears and bananas in hand! A bland diet for all us sick people! As the day went on, I started feeling better and better and now I'm prettys close to felling 100%, pretty close.

Thursdays Goals:

  • finish DWC right after breakfast ~ I finally finished it this morning sick and all, but I needed it to be shipped TODAY and it was :)
  • make 2 sets of coasters :)
  • Cut fabric for crib bumper
  • List Lovey on Etsy
  • topstich and fix Britain's blanket
  • Get paid!!!!!  WHOOT!!
  • Hmmmmm, that's about it!!!
Tomorrw, being Saturday I have cleaning and tons of puked on laundry that is demanding my attention! Ugh...not sure if I'll get to my sewing or not , but I do have a feeling that I will be cooking something...hmmmmm????

Thoughtful Thursday

Hello, Thursday! How nice of you to stop by, so thoughtful of you. You're one day closer to the weekend so I don't mind you being here...

Thursdays Goals:

  • finish DWC right after breakfast
  • make 2 sets of coasters :)
  • Cut fabric for crib bumper
  • List Lovey on Etsy
  • topstich and fix Britain's blanket
  • Get paid!!!!!
  • Hmmmmm, that's about it!!!
No Drew today...Drew is an 8 mo old that I babysit! It's supposed to be for 3 1/2 days a week, but this week it was only 1 1/2 days!! Since I have a 7 1/2 month old too, it feels like twins, grrrr (sometimes) Plus having Brit I feel like I could loose my sanity at any moment! But it's extra money and we need all we can get, with Josh being a FT student and us living off of financial aid...Oh well, life is good!!!

A New Day :) Cont'

Ok, so today went somewhat well!! Better than yesterday, WHOOT!!!

Here was my ToDo list...

Wednesday To Do:

  • Finish Abby's B-day present
  • Fold all laundry
  • Wash sheets and towels, then fold and put away, ugh
  • Start on crib bumper (cut fabric)
  • Make Elicia's coasters
  • Clean my BedRoom
I guess I had a hard time today focusing on what actually needed to be done. Oh well, I also got my bathroom cleaned. And when Brit finally woke up he was covered in puke :( So extra cleaning there, as well as a nice long bath for him, which he loved and then SCREAMED and thrashed all over when I took him out! Now I remember why I usually just take him in the shower with me, lol!!! I also cut my fabric and started making a DWC (diaper wipe case) for an Etsy order that I really need to ship out tomorrow. My list always seems like it's never ending. I never really feel like I catch up, grrrrr. Maybe someday when my kids are older and I have nothing else to do...SOMEDAY :) Sorry, no pictures in this post... :(

A New Day :)

Yesterday is over, thank God! Today is brand spankin' new and boy, do I feel motivated!! I've already showered and feel great! Daddy and Britain are still sleeping, so it's just me and Aven right now, eating breakfast!!

Aven is such a JOY!!! As I stand here and feed him his breakfast I'm reminded how blessed I am to have had a second child. I found out I was 4 months pregnant with Aven when Britain was 6 months old. He was completely an accident! But the BEST accident EVER :)

                             My sweet baby, Aven Bennett

Anyways, I have not done too much sewing the past few days, but today is a new day and today I'm going to get some sewing projects accomplished today. So in order to hold myself accountable to all 2 of my followers :) I'm gonna blog now on my To Do list for today, then blog before bed about all that was done! So we'll see how well today cooperates with me, lol :)

Wednesday To Do:
  • Finish Abby's B-day present
  • Fold all laundry
  • Wash sheets and towels, then fold and put away, ugh
  • Start on crib bumper (cut fabric)
  • Make Elicia's coasters
  • Clean my BedRoom
It seems like alot, but I think I can get it all done !!!!!

Day of accomplishments

Once I got the boys dressed in their matching outfits this morning...I realized that Britains pants were so big on him in the waist. And for whatever reason these pants do not have the adjustable waist band(which I love) So I thought it was high time to make him a belt. It took all of 5 minutes. And there it is! And now his pants won't be falling down. And by the way, I finally got this good pic after about 20 retakes, lol!!! Sheesh, kids just don't cooperate anymore like they used to...

I have not mentioned this yet, but our car has been undriveable for the last 5 days or so. We finally got ahold of our mechanic. So it should be done by Wednesday. I think I'm going nutzo with no means of our own transportation. I feel stuck, luckily we have been able to borrow cars from people when needed. Which is MUCH appreciated!!! Anyhoo, on our way to drop off our car, I was able to stop at Joann's and pick up a few NECESSITIES, haha, yeah right, I mean...fabric!!! I was recently told that I don't have enough boyish items in my shop...so I looked around for boyish prints and found these...

I also found this black and pink cotton fabric on the clearance rack!! I love a good deal!! I think this will make a good wipe case and burpie...
My sister who lives in CO mentioned that she would like a set of coasters that are red and black...so I found this pattern that just might work...even if she doesn't like it. I still think it will make for a great set of coasters and will match SOMEONE'S living room :) It actually looks more pink than red, but it is actually a very deep red color!

I also started a chenille blanket from the baseball fabric above. Our boys bedroom is a sports theme and I'm making it for Britain's toddler bed. So I hope it fits well. I will post pics, as well as list it in my shop tomorrow!!

Now, time for La La Land :)

Phew, what a weekend!!!

Josh and I went to a 'Going Home Celebration' for Sis Angeline Tamel on Saturday. And wow, what an awesome funeral that was...all I can say is that that's exactly how I would want my funeral to be. What a legacy she left behind for all to follow and remember her by!

Then Josh and I went our separate ways and he went to James' Bachelor Party (He had a great time!) and Abby and I went to Kelly's shower and as part of her gift I made her these...

Today (Sunday) we had AWESOME church in the am, wasn't able to make it to the pm service, bummer! However, we did spend the day with my inlaws celebrating my sis inlaw, Becca's birthday! Great day, except that I was quite crabby at times and all the little things bothered and annoyed me...I hate it when I get like that...and BOO HOO :( Packers lost. The season is over :( was a really great game and and would have been an awesome comeback had we won. Oh well, there's always next season...so until then!!

This coming week is SUPER busy as far as sewing is concerned... I have several projects on my ToDo list...hopefully I'll be making a new (big) chenille blanket for my Britain to sleep with...when Auntie Lizabeth was babysitting for him last night she thought he would be cold so she gave him our oh so nice and cozy blanket that I keep folded on top of our couch, for him to sleep with. Well, needless to say that when I went to put him to bed tonight I tried taking it out and he did not like that at all...so there it says. So hopefully (as soon as I can get to Hobby Lobby) I can make him a 'bigger' new blankie to snuggle at night. Oooohhhh, how I love my little boys :)

My family and my HOBBY!!!

My Everyday Joy!!!

This is Josh and I!!! We've been married for 4 years!!! Josh recently made the decision, after being laid off multiple times to go back to school. So far he's completed 1 semester, just shy of a GPA of 4.0. And this time next year he will graduate with a degree in Bio Medical Engineering and a degree in Electrical Engineering. WHOOT! So proud of him!!!

This is Mr. I'm so Mischevious, can't you tell by the look on my face?? Huh, huh? Our little man, Britain Levi James, 18 months old. And he's into eeeeeeeeeeeeverything!!! He would climb the Christmas tree if he could, lol!!! But I wouldn't trade him for squat! He's starting to be a snuggle bug and Daddy and I are just loving this stage with him!

Here's my baby...Aven Bennett James at his best!!! This kid honestly has the greatest smile with the best dimples any Mom could hope for. He's our little bundle of JOY!!

And this is Braydon, 7, and Avery, just about 6!! My step babies :) I love them as if they were my own. They are such good, well behaved kids. We are truly blessed!

And this is what I do...I make and sell (on my Etsy shop and to my friends and family) handmade, fun and funky baby items!!! I love it! It's definitely my hobby. So when I need to get away from this every day, ca-razy life, I just go and sit at my sewing machine and create something.
This is a rag lovey!! I also make, burp cloths, receiving blankets, changing pad roll-ups, embellished diaper wipe cases, belts and several other odds and ends!!!

So today was a great day! Aside from our car being out of commission and feeling completely trapped in my home, with tons of errands to run. I actually FEEL like I accomplished a lot. Although, list wise, I was not able to scratch anything off. Bummer! Oh well, there's always tomorrow. However, I was able to borrow my BFF's car for tonight and tomorrow. So I did run to Joann's for the fabric needed to make my coasters for tomorrow!!

I'm still trying to figure this whole 'blogging' thing out. I get that you try to get followers and you follow, but beyond that I'm kinda clueless!
